PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION
How personal data is processed through the contact form and website analytics.
The data controller is Ballıkaya’s Research Group. You may send data protection requests to ballikaya@iuc.edu.tr.
When you use the contact form, your name, email address, subject, and message are processed to review and respond to your request and manage the correspondence. During website use, a web analytics service may generate measurement data such as page views, visited URLs, referrer pages, browser/device details, approximate location, and short-lived pseudonymous visitor identifiers. These metrics are used to understand traffic and improve the website.
Contact data is collected electronically when you submit the form. Where applicable, processing needed to respond to your request may rely on pre-contractual steps requested by you or the controller’s legitimate interests under Article 5 of Turkish data protection law. Analytics data is generated by the service while the website operates; the controller must assess the applicable legal basis and any consent or preference requirements for its service configuration.
Contact records are stored using database infrastructure located in Germany. Data may be shared with hosting, database, file storage, and web analytics service providers to deliver, secure, and support those services. These providers or their subprocessors may also process data in other countries for support, security, or infrastructure operations. Where personal data is transferred abroad, the controller is responsible for ensuring that the transfer meets Article 9 of Turkish data protection law. This notice alone does not confirm that a transfer mechanism has been implemented or establish legal compliance.
Contact records are kept for as long as needed to respond to and manage the correspondence. Messages marked closed by an administrator are scheduled for automatic deletion 12 months after closure; the database’s periodic cleanup process may complete deletion shortly after that point. Records may be retained longer only to the extent required by applicable statutory retention or limitation obligations. Analytics retention is subject to the service’s current settings and policies.
Under Article 11 of Turkish data protection law, you may ask whether your data is processed, request information or correction, request deletion or destruction where applicable, and exercise your other statutory rights. Send your request, with information sufficient to verify your identity, to the email address above. Requests are handled under the procedures and time limits set by applicable law.
